Past Projects
Mike Patten of Heritage Walls has been involved in many
seminars, festivals, and wallings around Southern Ontario and has aquired much
knowledge and experience in the field of Dry Stone Walling.

Most recently Mike has been working on and completed a beautiful stone wall in his backyard (seen to the left). Mike built the wall primarily by himself using field stone aquired from all around durham region. When it came time to built the archway, using one of his own custom built wood forms, Mike was able to succesfully complete the archway.
Mike has been involved in the Dry Stone Wall Association of Canada for over 2 years and has worked with fellow members to complete many amazing projects out of only stone and skill. From archways, to bridges, plain walls to complicated, curving walls with features built into them, and even stone constraints for livestock at local festivals and events. Mike played a significant role in building the first ever dry stone bridge in Canada under the guidance of Norman Haddow, master stone waller from Scotland, as well as built the custom form needed to form the bridge. Mike also participated in the Dry Stone Wall Associations first ever attempt at a twisted arch, where the archway is not smooth but random and actually twists, and was very succesful.
