Will frost not cause problems?

Not if built properly. Features such as Arches and Bridges have proper foundations lain in order to ensure a stable footing. Regardless, the heave and give of the land is meant to be absorbed by the wall and the techniques used allows this to happen.

How much stone will I need?

Roughly, for walls 4’9” high (standard), you need one ton ever three feet.

How long will it take?

Many factors influence this. A generic wall is built at speeds from six to ten feet a day per waller.
